چکیده
It has come to the authors attention that experimental turnover frequencies (TOFs) were calculated incorrectly by using a second-order rate constant for reaction instead of first-order observed as defined in original derivation.1, 2 The presented TOF values from re-analyzed electrolysis data are shown below an updated version Table 1. These should replace those originally published 1 and also their mention discussion Abstract text. Electron Transfer and Solvent-Mediated Electronic Localization in Molecular Photocatalysis.
This work provides a detailed mechanism for electron transfer in a heterodinuclear complex designed as a model system in which to study homogeneous molecular photocatalysis. With efficient Born-Oppenheimer molecular dynamics simulations, we show how intermediate, charge-separated states can mediate the electron transfer. We observe how Jahn-Teller distortion effects play out in solution, when t...
متن کاملSpin-orbit quenching via solvent mediated electron transfer
We simulate the 395 nm photodissociation of I2 2 embedded in clusters of 6 to 22 CO2 molecules. In the isolated molecule, photodissociation at this wavelength leads exclusively to spin-orbit excited iodine (I*) plus I. In the larger clusters we observe efficient electronic relaxation, leading both to dissociated products containing ground-state iodine and to recombined products containing I2 2 ...
متن کاملSyntrophic growth via quinone-mediated interspecies electron transfer
The mechanisms by which microbial species exchange electrons are of interest because interspecies electron transfer can expand the metabolic capabilities of microbial communities. Previous studies with the humic substance analog anthraquinone-2,6-disulfonate (AQDS) suggested that quinone-mediated interspecies electron transfer (QUIET) is feasible, but it was not determined if sufficient energy ...
متن کاملCobamide-mediated enzymatic reductive dehalogenation via long-range electron transfer
The capacity of metal-containing porphyrinoids to mediate reductive dehalogenation is implemented in cobamide-containing reductive dehalogenases (RDases), which serve as terminal reductases in organohalide-respiring microbes. RDases allow for the exploitation of halogenated compounds as electron acceptors. Their reaction mechanism is under debate. Here we report on substrate-enzyme interactions...
متن کاملphotosensitizers: effect of varied linker conjugation on interfacial electron transfer†
The efficient capture and conversion of solar energy into a usable form is a significant research target. Dye-sensitized systems, such as dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) and watersplitting dye-sensitized photoelectrochemical cells (WSDSPECs), utilize high surface area metal oxide scaffolds sensitized with a molecular light-absorbing dye to harvest sunlight and convert it into an electrical p...
